Parent Involvement Policy

The Patrick Henry Parent Involvement Policy and Compact (PDF) outlines how the parents, the school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement. It also outlines the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the state’s high standards.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

We are pleased to share that the contractor has been granted permission to advance the commencement of Phase B, which includes the construction of the new parking lot. To accommodate these construction developments, there will be changes to our drop-off and pick-up procedures when we resume classes after Winter Break, starting on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 to June 12, 2024.

Please expect delays. We strongly encourage you to use ACPS provided bus transportation. 

 

Car Riders

All children who ride in a car must follow this procedure:

Arrival

From 7:42 to 8:00 a.m.,  Car riders will now be directed to utilize the parking lot entrance to the left (west side) of the old building. Refer to the diagram above, outlining the adjusted traffic flow with directional arrows. After exiting their vehicle, students are to walk along the sidewalk and enter through the main entrance, Door 1. 

The lot will be closed prior to 7:40 am to ensure staff access to the campus.

 

Dismissal

From 2:42 to 3:00 p.m., car rider pick-up will follow the same entrance and exit plan. Students will come to the cars along the sidewalk to be dismissed. Cars will move under the direction of staff members. 

After 3:00 pm, you must park in the lot, and an adult must come to the main entrance at Door 1 to sign children out.

Walkers

Arrival

Walkers will no longer be able to come down the hill from Foxchase Apartments and must now enter campus from Taney Ave. on the west side of the old Patrick Henry building. (Solid arrow on the diagram) Walkers will stand near the bike racks in front of the Rec Center. Staff will be supporting the drop-off and pick-up plan as they have been.

Dismissal

Walkers will be dismissed at 2:45 p.m.

After 3:00 p.m., an adult must come to the main entrance at Door 1 to sign children out.

Dress Code
